Gianni Doglia Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Casa Doglia" 2023
Awarded Winegrower of the Year in 2022 by Gambero Rosso, Gianni Doglia is a third-generation winegrower with a deep connection to Monferrato’s terroir. Alongside his sister Paola, who oversees the commercial side of their small family winery, Gianni cultivates 16 hectares of vines on the calcareous clay soils of Castagnole delle Lanze. The Doglia family’s vineyards include parcels planted by Gianni’s grandfather over 60 years ago, selected with great care for each grape variety.
The Casa Doglia Barbera d’Asti DOCG is a vibrant and varietally pure expression of Barbera. Hand-harvested from these historic vineyards and aged for six months in stainless steel, the wine showcases the meticulous attention to detail that has earned Gianni accolades, including the prestigious “Red Star” in 2024 for achieving Tre Bicchieri status 10 times. It offers a deep purple-red color, aromas of red fruits, and a fresh, lively palate with bright acidity.
This Barbera embodies the Doglia family’s tradition of thoughtful, precise winemaking. It is a pure and expressive reflection of Monferrato’s character, crafted with a passion for the land and a deep respect for the heritage of Barbera.
