Valdibella Zibibbo "ZiBiBo" 2022
Valdibella is a cooperative located on a high plain called Camporeale, south of Palermo, where they cultivate organic vegetables, fruit, wheat and wine. Theirs is a truly holistic farm; they produce and sell a wide variety of food products, providing a second chance and work opportunity for less fortunate members of society. In this respect they continue the altruistic work of the Jesuit monks who originally founded and developed the site in 1642, building a thriving farm community and winery.
Valdibella wines show great purity and varietal integrity.
Like so many things Sicilian, Zibibbo owes its origins to the 6 centuries-long Arabic rule of the island. The name comes from the Arabic zabīb for ‘raisin’. With its distinctive “grapey” aroma, Zibibbo was traditionally used for dessert wine. This version however is dry and saline, but with enough fruit to make it both a wonderful aperitivo and the perfect wine to accompany all vegetable and seafood dishes.
