Tre Monti Albana "Vigna Rocca" 2023
Albana is a delightful and unusual grape from Romagna, the coastal half of Emilia Romagna. A thick-skinned and late ripening variety that holds its acidity well, Albana was traditionally used for making dessert wines. Often referred to as “a red grape in white clothing” it is juicy, full-bodied, deeply coloured, and with a certain tannic expression. This wine is 100% skin contact in stainless steel for 15 days. It is juicy, elegant with stone fruit and honey characters on the nose and a mouth filling texture conveying ripe stone fruit on the palate.
Tre Monti, a second-generation family producer has 50 years of winegrowing experience. With sites in the hills near Imola, brothers Vittorio and Davide Navacchia farm a total of 52 hectares. Albana and other white varieties are grown in the Imola hills, where the winery and home are located while sangiovese is grown on the coastal hills near Ravenna.
